Medicare

Ballajura Optometrists bulk bills eye tests automatically to Medicare for all patients. Please ensure you bring your Medicare Card to the appointment so you can have your consultation paid for by Medicare through the Bulk Bill service. Please note, digital retinal diagnostic photographs are not covered by Medicare and incur an additional cost.
​Private Health Insurance

Ballajura Optometrists is a registered ancillary health provider. If you have Private Health Insurance, we can submit your claim for spectacle frames, lenses and contact lenses on the day using Hi Caps. We work with an extensive network of Private Health Insurance companies and have spectacles frames & lenses to suit any insurance policy, personal preference and budget. You must have your Private Health Insurance card on you to claim through Hicaps, so please ensure you bring your card to your appointment.
​Veterans Affairs
​
For the Veterans amongst our community, we can assist with claims and benefits provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs. We have facilities to bulk bill vision examinations, spectacle frames and prescription lenses to the Department of Veterans Affairs. We also have a comprehensive range of no out-of-pocket spectacle frames and lenses.



​WA Spectacle Subsidy Scheme
​
The WA Spectacle Subsidy Scheme assists with the purchase of a complete pair of prescribed spectacles or contact lenses. As of 1 July 2019 the subsidy maximum is $54.34 which is available once every 2 years, subject to eligibility criteria.

The assistance is available to Western Australians who receive an Age, Disability or Service pension; or hold a WA Seniors Card. The scheme is also available to dependent children under 16 years of age shown on eligible concession cards.

Ballajura Optometrists is a participating member of the WA Spectacle Subsidy and we have claim forms available for lodging your claim.
